How does the Neutralox Photoionisation system work?

gallery_neutralox_7Photoionisation describes a physical-chemical treatment method for oxidation of odours and other air emissions, originating from waste, sewage and sludge treatment processes.

Photoionisation is essentially based on the application of UV-light and catalysts. The UV-light creates strong oxidizing agents (O-2, OH-, O3 , activated O2 and other free radicals) that begin to oxidize the odor causing compounds.

A downstream catalyst provides a surface, for oxidation of odour compounds.

What are the benefits of the Neutralox Photoionisation process?

gallery_neutralox_1Photoionisation is very effective and can achieve odour reduction rates of more than 99%.

The main benefit of the system is essentially in the ease of the process.

Furthermore, photoionisation has no requirements regarding inlet air and odour conditions as temperature and humidity variations in the load do not influence or harm the process. No water or chemicals are required for treatment and no side-streams produced.

Maintenance demand is minimal and limited to exchanging inlet filters, UV-lamps and catalyst material every 1-2 years.
