The Atotonilco STP located in Mexico City, Mexico is the largest STP in the world, with an inlet works sized at 50 m3/sec and an EP rating of 10.5 Million.
After competitive tenders were called from wastewater suppliers around the globe, HUBER Technology and their local partners were awarded the inlet works equipment due to their competitiveness, high performance, robustness, track record and above all, life cycle value.

HUBER WAP SL Advanced-Wash-Presses
The scope includes a total of 50 machines for coarse and fine screening, screenings washing, grit washing and a RAS screening station.
“Such a large treatment plant will produce a huge quantity of screenings and grit, hence HUBER Advanced Screenings Washing and Grit Washing Technology was selected due to its incredible performance, proving the highest volume reductions of any technology on the market.
This will lead to a significant saving in plant OPEX, as truck movements in and out of the plant will be reduced by 50%.

HUBER RoSF4 Advanced Grit Washing Plants
All incoming sewage will be screened with the heavy duty RakeMax® Screen, that can effectively remove trash, wood, stones, bricks and other large objects, thus protecting the downstream fine screenings facility and increasing plant reliability” says John Koumoukelis of Hydroflux HUBER.
All sewage shall be screened using the HUBER RakeMax® Bar Screen, a heavy duty screen that can remove high quantities of trash, coarse material and screenings.
Screenings generated from the 10 x Coarse Screens and 20 x Fine Screens are washed and dewatered in the HUBER WAP/SL Advanced Wash Presses. These units include a wash tank for rigorous organics removal. The final product discharged contains 45% dry solids.
Grit slurry captured in the longitudinal grit removal system is pumped to 8 x HUBER RoSF4 Advanced Grit Washing Plants. These units, similar to HUBER units operating at Sydney Water, Melbourne Water and other authorities, will dewater grit to 90% dry solids.
All equipment was fabricated in HUBER’s state of the art manufacturing facility located in Germany, to the latest ISO and EU standards.
